Please join Councillor Cloutier on Monday, March 25th at 6pm at the Heron Road Community Centre for an open house on the Heron Gate Secondary Plan. The next version of a preliminary design concept will be shown at this open house followed by a Question and Answer session. There will then be an open house for attendees to review the design boards. By attending, you will have the opportunity to comment and share your ideas for the site’s future use and design, prior to the secondary plan being submitted to the City. If you cannot make it, there is a similar session on Tuesday, March 26th, however that one is primarily intended for residents.
Last week, the AVCA hosted a well-attended meeting regarding the proposed severance of 2067 Palmer Avenue. All attendees were opposed to the request for minor variance that will be presented at the Committee of Adjustment on March 20th given the precedent setting nature of the variance. The proposed variance would result in two lots much smaller than lot sizes in the area and allow for severance of a corner lot that is against City of Ottawa Infill 2 bylaw. The last day to provide comments ( for those directly impacted by the proposed severance) to the Committee of Adjustment is today, March 13th. They can be emailed at firstname.lastname@example.org . The agenda for next week’s meeting, March 20th, which will be held at 101 Centrepointe Drive, can be found here. https://app05.ottawa.ca/sirepub/mtgviewer.aspx?meetid=7720&doctype=AGENDABoth AVCA and the Faircrest Heights Community Association will make delegations at the meeting, immediate neighbours encouraged to attend.
Ward 18 Councillor, Jean Cloutier, will be hosting a meeting regarding a proposal for development for 1545 Bank Street at the intersection of Evans Boulevard and Bank Street. The proposed development would include 140 residential apartments and three commercial units. Please join us to discuss the specifics of this proposal and to understand the next steps. The meeting will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jim Durrell Recreation Centre (1265 Walkley Road), with the presentation taking place at 6:45pm. Look forward to seeing you there.
Please note our monthly AVCA meeting will be held the night prior, Tuesday, March 19th 2019 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive.
An application has been received by the City of Ottawa Committee of Adjustment to sever the corner lot property at 2067 Palmer into two lots. The applicant needs permission from the City to do so as this is against the current zoning by-laws, and therefore the AVCA is holding a meeting where neighbours and residents can express their views to the representatives (planners) of the client looking to split the lot. The meeting will be held Monday, March 4th at 7pm at Rideau Park United Church. Please rsvp to Patrizia Huot at email@example.com if you will be attending.
On February 11th and 12th Timbercreek provided this presentation to attendees of the city councillor’s open house on Heron Gate. The presentation provided an overview of what was heard over the last year of consultations, Timbercreek’s social framework commitments, and examines options they are exploring with respect to built form and density as well as open spaces and green connections. There will be further consultations towards the end of March prior to Timbercreek seeking approval of their plan. Updates on those meetings will be provided here in the common weeks.
