E-Waste Collection Day – June 10

Alta Vista School Council Presents:
E-Waste Collection Day

Date: Saturday, June 10 – the day of the Awesome Alta Vista Garage Sale
Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
Location: Alta Vista Public School, 1349 Randall Ave

E-WASTE

In partnership with the Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), we will be collecting all types of old electronics such as: display devices, monitors and televisions, desktop computers, portable computers, computer peripherals, telephones, cell phones and pagers.  These can be brought to the school parking lot and dropped in our bin.

Please note … we are staying open an hour later than the garage sales are scheduled to run – so if you are holding a garage sale, and you have some electronics that you were not able to sell, please come see us to get rid of them.

FUNDRAISING

And the school gets some fundraising dollars based on the weight of items collected.

There is so much awesomeness in this collaboration – it is a win-win-win!

Next AVCA meeting this Tuesday

The Awesome Alta Vista Weekend is right around the corner and our next AVCA meeting is on Tuesday May 16th at 7:30pm at Rideau Park United Church.

As this our last meeting before our traditional summer break our agenda is rather full. We have several time sensitive community building items that require discussion and approval before we break for the summer. Please find attached our agenda and feel free to share it with your neighbours and social networks.

Community in a Cup

Tea is a tradition shared by many cultures and ages. Join the Alta Vista Public Library for a celebration of this wonderfully unifying drink. Students from Ridgemont High School will display hand-made, decorated teapots. A tea tasting will be led by David’s Tea. Enhanced with music by Moore & McGregor (Celtic Rathskallions). Weather permitting, the tea will be taken in the courtyard. Sponsored in partnership with MASC.

Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:00am – Alta Vista branch
