More development near Riverside and Smyth

According to the City’s on-line development application information portal, there has been a proposal submitted for 1833 Riverside Drive, which is right by Riverside and Smyth. Details are as follows:

An application to develop two blocks of stacked townhouses, for a total of 24 units, and 34 surface parking spaces along the front portion of the property. Existing building and parking to be retained.

Supporting documents, site plans, etc. are all available on-line by following the development application search link. You can search by application ID (D07-12-13-0014) or by address.

Some fine reading for those interested in development that will likely affect those living in and around Alta Vista.

Very cool post on architecture in Alta Vista

Just found a blog posting highlighting the architecture and history within Alta Vista (in particular Applewood Acres). Lots of pictures and old model designs from the original Campeau development. For those in the area it’s a fascinating read. An excerpt has been added to the History page.

South Ottawa Little League 2013 Registration

The South Ottawa Little League (encompassing the areas of Riverside South, Findlay Creek, Canterbury, Hunt Club, Elmvale Acres, Alta Vista, Greenboro, Riverview and Elizabeth Park) is advertising for their 2013 Baseball season. Open to Boys and Girls ages 4 – 18.
